HALLOWEEN SPECIAL - Seductive Vampire Makeup

Hey everyone!

It's time for look number three in my Halloween series! This time, I wanted to create something more wearable and somewhat less out there than the first two looks. Something a bit more pretty-scary instead of gross-scary. It didn't take me long to decide what that was going to be, since I've been wanting to try this one for a while now ánd because this might be a look I would wear to a Halloween party myself ..
A vampire! And not just a vampire, but a sexy, sultry vampire with nice full lips and sultry smokey eyes. I'm especially in love with the lips, they're so intense! And the great thing is that they look pretty fancy and time-consuming to make, but it actually takes about two minutes to make these. The eyes are also very easy and aren't that different from the ones I did in my gory zombie look, except that they're a bit more neat and blended in this one. All in all, if you wish to look scary, but still somewhat attractive, this is the look for you! Read on to see how I achieved it!

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL - Gory Zombie Makeup (Viewer Discretion Advised =)

Here's the next look of the Halloween series and this one might be less suited to wear to your average party than a dainty skull face. What it actually is, is an out of control attempt to use a homemade special effects gel for creating irregular skin texture and wounds. Let me explain.

I was browsing YouTube, looking for inspiration, when I came across this video about a DIY recipe for prosthetic gel. All you needed to make this gel is gelatin, glycerin and water. I've always admired YouTube guru's who make the craziest prosthetic pieces and create the most realistic special effects using basic prosthetic-making products like scar wax and liquid latex, but since I don't have a special effects makeup store nearby, this seemed like a cool thing that I could try right away. And so I did.

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL - Realistic Skull Makeup

Hello everyone!

Over the years, it has become more and more clear to me that I have the coolest birth date ever. And for anyone who doesn't know me personally; I was born on October 31st, also known as Halloween! I think Halloween is a hugely undercelebrated holiday here in Holland. No trick-or-treating, no scary decorations. If you're lucky there might be a half decent dress-up party somewhere not too far away. So, as a Halloween child, I felt obligated to breathe new life into this day and show everyone how awesome it can be!

That's why I'm going to show you some scary, gory, unsightly Halloween looks that are often way easier to recreate than you might think. I've never, ever done looks like these before, but I'm loving it already. To officially launch this series, I've chosen a classic Halloween symbol that I'd been wanting to try and recreate for a while ..

The skull. *scary movie tune*

Basic Bridal Make-up: Natural, Long-lasting and Super Easy!

Hey guys!

It's been waaay too long! I've been very busy during the past month, but I have a few days off now so I finally have time to update you guys on what I've been up to. To begin with, the most awesome thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I was approached through facebook by a girl I went to primary school with, and she said that she and her friend had been looking through my facebook pictures and that they both loved my makeup looks. So much even, that she asked me if I'd like to do her friend's makeup. On. Her. Wedding day. So - never having done an actual bridal look before in my life - I was like whut?! for about three seconds before I wholeheartedly answered "Yes of course!" and "I'd love to!".

Quick update + @BeautybyLinde on Twitter!

Hi guys!

I thought I'd give you a quick update to tell you why I haven't been posting as much this past month (and I won't be for the upcoming two or three weeks). My holiday has begun recently, which means that I've started working full-time to catch up on my savings. On my days off, I usually try to spend time with friends and family, so I hardly have any time left to work on my blog!

Rise of the HEMA Brushes (Dutchies Only)

Hey guys!

Today we're looking into some very affordable, pretty nice quality makeup brushes, which are unfortunately only available in the Netherlands, at HEMA to be precise. This is a Dutch store that sells pretty much everything you can think of, from clothes to alarmclocks to bicycles to kitchen supplies to pies to toys to, of course, makeup. It's been that way as long as I can remember, but

Unboxing my Very First GLOSSY BOX!!

Hi guys!

Woeee I'm SO excited that my first Glossy Box has finally arrived! Our mail-guy came by this morning and I was staring at him through the window like some psycho stalker to see if he was carrying something girly and pink, but he wasn't! So I died a little inside, but then after 30 minutes or so, the door bell rang again and there she was, my savior from some other mailing company, holding something girly and pink(ish)! At that time I didn't even care if the content would be of any use to me, I was already very much in love with the packaging and with the whole idea of receiving this cute box every single month from now on :) Read on if you're as curious as I was to find out what's inside!

FOTD: Edgy Cut-Crease/Cat-Eye + Video Tutorial!!

Hello again!

So the day of my very first real YouTube makeup tutorial has finally come *cheers* ! It still feels very weird and awkward, but also very exciting and new, so I'm very curious to hear what you think of it! The look I'll be doing is this very strong Arabic cut-crease cat-eye using only neutral colors. I think this would be

FOTD: Subtle Green/Brown Day-time Look - Photo Tutorial!

Hi guys!

I felt like showing you all how to do this supereasy daytime look using browns and silvery greens. I'm a big fan of the green-ish shadow I'll be using for this, because I feel like it suits my eyecolor perfectly! It's a very wearable look and I think the pop of green gives it just that bit extra. I hope you enjoy!

INGLOT Summerlook: The Finals!

Hey guys!
Past wednesday, all the waiting finally came to an end: It was the day of the Inglot Summerlook finals in Amsterdam. The moment we - my friend and I - arrived, I immediately began drooling all over the place, feeling like an overenthousiastic crazy person among civilized, politely mingling public. All the colors were absolutely stunning and I almost died trying to control the urge to swatch everything. After a few minutes I thought I'd visit the bathroom before everything started and once again my timing skills didn't let me down: When I walked back into the store, three women ran my way to drag me to the room where the models were, because I had already missed the entire opening speech. How typical.

Anyway, from that moment on, everything went by very quickly. Each model was randomly assigned to one of the finalists. I was very pleased with mine: she was beautiful, the make-up looked stunning on her and she was very sweet and fun to work with. Next, it was time for my favorite part of the day: We were sent into the store to pick up anything and everything we needed to recreate our look. I felt like I'd won fifteen minutes of free shopping. *sigh*

Let's Talk Eyeliner! How-To Video + My All-Time Favorite!

Hello everyone!

So, in my very first post on this blog, I said that I was planning on recording make-up tutorials, which I still am! I'm just trying to find an efficient way to record and edit the material, because I tend to be quite chaotic and slow when I don't think everything through beforehand. I've already recorded one tutorial, but after a few weeks of contemplating I decided that I'm not satisfied with the end result, so I will record a new one as soon as possible. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy this blogpost, including a mini-tutorial on how I like to do my eyeliner!

Summer Survival: Soothing Sunburns!

 Hey guys!

The unthinkable happened during the past days/weeks: The weather in Holland has been great! Maybe even  too great, since we went from depressing and rainy, to burning hot 'please-don't-make-me-wear-any-clothes' weather from one day to another. Of course I was psyched, but my poor, pale skin not so much. I survived about three days without crazy sunburns, but then my allergies started to pop up and suddenly I was covered in countless annoying itchy bumps. So I started to dig through our kitchen to look for some naturally soothing remedies, with success! These are some easy peasy options for you to try, in case your tanning-spree has gotten slightly out of hand.

W7 "Silky Eyes" Shades of Brown Eyeshadow Quad: Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hi guys!

I must admit that I'm a huge sucker for cheap eyeshadow palettes, so when I saw this quad lying on the shelves in a drugstore nearby, I couldn't resist (I believe it only cost me about €3,-). All the eyeshadows have a silky (hence the name) metallic finish to them and this particular one contains a soft pink, a bronzy brown, a chocolate brown, and a frosty white (I wish they would've named/numbered the colors *sigh*).

**Newsflash** Essie Nailpolish at Etos!

A quick update for my fellow dutchies who happen to have a nailpolish-addiction like me: From now on, the amazing Essie nailpolishes will be available in every Etos store! I'm probably not the first to notice - maybe even the last -, but I was SO excited when I found out that I just had to share!

Make-up Artist of the Month: Alex Box

Hi guys and welcome to part I of my Make-up Artist of the Month series!

Over the past few years I've encountered so many amazingly talented make-up artists while browsing magazines and, of course, YouTube; people I'd never even heard of before. Their work is SO inspiring and creative and I think it's such a shame that those people are only known within the beauty industry (and sometimes not even there!), even though the biggest celebrities would look like crap without them. So I thought I'd start sharing some of my favorite make-up artists with you guys, people from all over the world who can work absolute make-up miracles.

Today, prepare yourself to be stunned by the work of Alex Box, the creative director of Illamasqua Cosmetics.

Yay for Bright Spring-Lips!

Hi everyone!

Even though the sun still seems to be hibernating where I live, I woke up feeling optimistic today and so I thought I'd try out some fun lipcolors for spring/summer. This season is really all about color, whether you'd want to wear neons, pastels or just the usual bright pinks and reds. Combining these pretty lipcolors with a flashy nailpolish and a bright eyeliner (magenta lips + turquiose liner + yellow nails = success) will definitely make you stand out in the crowd.

VOTE for me in The Inglot Summerlook Contest!

Hi guys!

Just a quick post to ask for your support! I'm participating in this contest called the Inglot Summerlook Contest, which basically asks you to come up with a pretty make-up look for summer, and make a tutorial-like video of you doing the look on yourself or a friend. I'm really satisfied with the results, since I've never made a video like this before (I'm not saying it wasn't a struggle because it was :). Anyway, this is how it turned out!

Project Purol

Hi everyone!

This is just going to be a quick update on a project that I'm starting off with today. It has something to do with Purol, which is a Dutch brand that produces different skincare related products, such as lipbalm, vaseline, talcum powder and ointment. The latter is the one I'll be using for my little research project, and here's what I'm gonna do.

DIY: Unique vintage rings!

Hey guys!

So, this might not have a lot to do with makeup, but I just felt like sharing this quick and easy DIY with you! This afternoon, me and my mom went to the thriftstore and I saw these gorgeous clip on earrings lying there, waiting to be turned into some even more gorgeous rings. I instantly became inspired to once again get creative, and I must say I'm loving the end result! This DIY is the perfect way to get yourself some new and unique jewellery, while spending virtually no money on it.

How to mend a broken ... compact!

Hi guys!

So, a while ago I ordered a Make-Up Studio palette filled with different blush colors. A couple of days later I heard an ominous thump coming from my front door, after which my mom called me to say that one of the blushes hadn't survived the blow. I almost cried when I found out that it was the hot pink one, but then I remembered the magic trick I'm about to show you. This method is very quick and simple (and even quite fun to do) and it doesn't affect the quality of your compact whatsoever. After this, you're gonna want to break all your compacts just so you can fix them again :)

Welcome!

Hello my loyal followers (okay maybe not just yet, but let's hope you will be soon :),

This is a very exciting day for me, since I have been contemplating on starting my own beautyblog for a while now.  I was trying to come up with reasons why I shouldn't, but I couldn't think of any, so I finally decided to just go for it. And here I am!

In addition to this blog, I set up a YouTube channel, where I will be posting make-up tutorials and other beauty related video's. I'm planning to film one every two weeks on saturday, so that you guys know when to expect one.
Of course YouTube wasn't the only reason I started this blog. That would be lame. You will also be seeing many written reviews, random beauty-related stories and personal experiences, swatches, tips and tricks, make-up myths, and all that jazz! I already have tons of ideas about blogs I'm going to write and tutorials I'm going to record, so definitely stay tuned for those!
